Rolling progress

August 9th, 2010

I thought I would post a pic of my rolling progress. Since my friend Ariana came over a couple of weeks ago I have taken some of her techniques and refined them to make them my own. Now obviously she is a girl so the rolling style I have chosen to go with is a slight modification of hers as boys and girls really need to roll differently for obvious reasons. In the picture you can clearly see that I start at one side of a mat that dad had put down for me. This mat is approximately 1.5 meters in width so as you can see I have moved roughly almost 2 meters from my starting position to my finishing position. Now the style I decided to use is rolling with a kind of diagonal twist. For that reason it looks like I have gone a little wonky in my end position but this is merely due to the technique I applied. If  dad gets time he will try and film me doing it next time but the problem is every time the camera comes out it has some kind of magic power that tends to hypnotize me and put me into a trance like state where all I can do is stare at the camera and make funny noises. It pretty much paralyzes me. Anyway if you like my progress please do let me know as it is always good to have feedback.

Very good Felix, a big improvement from the wee roll I saw the other day!
Soon you can teach cousin your Kate the techniques (girl version of course…)

Well done Felix – now we can roll down the road together to get an icecream. Next time I see you I’ll show you my wicked new commando style crawl. I think it’s fun, but mum and dad aren’t impressed as my fascination with rolling/crawling to the blinds to pull them down is annoying apparently.

Post a video of your new moves soon!

Ooh ooh that sounds choice!! I can’t wait to see the new style. I am thinking of creating a kind of movement style guide for babies to put on the blog. That way I can show other up and coming babies how to progress!!!
